Mission Statement

OAK HILL UMC MISSION STATEMENT:

To make Disciples for Jesus Christ.

CHURCH PURPOSE:

The purpose of Oak Hill United Methodist Church is to worship God and share the gospel with the community and the world, as we nurture, love, and support one another according to God’s word.

 CHRISTIAN LIFE CENTER MISSION STATEMENT:

Brethren, the Oak Hill Christian Life Center is of God, and dedicated to God, to be preserved, loved, prayed for and to be enjoyed by all, for the promotion of God’s word and praise, the maintenance of Christian fellowship and discipline for the edification of believers, and for conversion of the world about us. It is the duty and privilege of all believers to assume these responsibilities.

ACHIEVING MISSION GOALS:

* The Oak Hill United Methodist Church is achieving mission goals in part by meeting the Conference askings, and this supports the ongoing ministry of the UMC worldwide.

*Oak Hill UMC Youth continues to support their local missionaries with prayers and financial aid that assists their word in teaching Biblical truths.

*Oak Hill United Methodist Youth program is successful in providing outreach and spiritual training for the church and community youth. The group meets weekly.

*Oak Hill’s ‘Wonderful Wednesday’ program and luncheon is a good outreach tool that provides fellowship and a meal to those that live alone and to those with other needs.

*Oak Hill’s ‘No Excuse’ Wednesday night provides a meal and also child care to those attending Wednesday night Bible study. This provides an opportunity for additional spiritual training for the children and increased attendance for the Bible study.

*The Oak Hill Choir, under the direction of Susie DuVall, strives to be not only an enhancement to the Worship Service, but also to be an instrument of outreach by singing at other churches, retirement centers, nursing homes, etc.
